Kreativ Blogger award

Hi-
I saw this award on Jenny's site and I wanted to give this award to 7 bloggers who I think are awesome crafters. They inspire me everyday when I look at their blogs. Okay, I bent the rules a little b/c I nominated 8 people, oh well, they deserve it :)

The rules for this award are:
1. Thank the person that nominated you for this award.
2. Copy logo and place it on your blog.
3. Link the person's blog that nominated you for this award.
4. Name 7 things about yourself that people might find interesting.
5. Nominate 7 Kreativ Bloggers.
6. Post a link to the 7 you nominated.
7.Leave a comment on each blog to let them know they are nominated.

1. Teri big ideas from a little girl
2. Jen Pieces of me
3. Jenny crazy for paper
4. Janis Creative expressions
5. Kyoko cards and tags mania
6. Elena bearasaurus
7. Brenda sweet as a gumdrop
8. Cheryl life is sweet

7 things about myself

1. I love to cook and bake, but I don't do it very often b/c I live by myself and I don't like to eat the same food for weeks.

2. I like the Twilight series too

3. My favorite movie theater snack is popcorn and mochi crunch- but I refuse to pay $2 for a small bag of mochi crunch so when I can, I go to price busters first and then buy a big bag and a bottled water and sneak it into the theater. Shh! don't out me ;)

4. I can work in small crowded, cluttered spaces as long as I can find a clean surface

5. I have numerous relatives on my dad's side (there are about 150+ relatives)

6. I am making my cousin's guest book for his wedding coming up in August- but I'm putting it off until the last minute b/c I'm running out of ideas

7. This is too hard to think of 7 things about myself. ;P

get well wishes

Hi-
My aunty fell down last week and fractured her left knee. I decided to make her a get well card and also a note card set. She had surgery on Saturday and hopefully she's on the mend. We all have to travel to Oregon for her son's wedding in August so we're hoping and praying that she will heal well and also not develop any DVT's :(

We're very similar in that whenever we fall down or injure ourselves, after feeling the pain of course, we end up cracking up hysterically (better than crying I guess)....so when I called to see how she was, I asked her "How you doing Humpty Dumpty?" and of course she started laughing :)

I used a Dustin Pike design and then added glossy accents to the horns/thingy's on his spine. I colored w/copics- getting better at blending (IMO). I usually don't decorate the inside of my cards, but I did this time- I used cut out flowers that I made using my cricut and then layered it onto the flower on the DP. The note card box is one I made when I was practicing making my Aloha RAK; I still have to tweak the box. But at least this one is bigger and doesn't smoosh the envelopes. LOL! I hope she likes the card and notecard set. TFL.

My nephew's birthday

Hello everyone-
Hope you had a nice weekend- it's already Sunday :( Anyway, my nephew turned 6 on Tuesday and his birthday party is today at Dave and Buster's. He loooooves Transformers- saw the new movie twice. I decided to not only buy him Transformers but also make him this card. I used the stair step fold and downloaded some characters. I applied glossy accents to make them look more (machine like). The only bummer is that when I shrank them down, it made their heads teeny tiny- but I'm sure he'll get the gist of it and can identify who they are. Thanks for looking and have a great week!

My Aloha RAK to Sharon

Hi-
I got paired w/ Sharon in California- I wanted to make the same type of notecard holder that Gail had made for me. However, I don't own a score-pal yet, so I had to kind of figure out the measurements myself (this is very dangerous as I am really bad at math). In any case, it came out decently, however I forgot to take into consideration the envelope size so it's kinda smooshed in there. But it still looks good ( I think). I will 1) BUY A SCORPAL ASAP 2)keep practicing so I can get better. I used hero arts stamps for the notecards and then colored them w/ my copics and stickles. The paper is from Manle's store (Pineapple cove). I hope Sharon likes the gift (I included stamps and stamped images too). For the card I cut out some of the flowers and popped them up to add dimension to the card.

Have a nice weekend!

Baby shower card and gifts I made

Hi~ My friend and co-worker will be having a baby girl in August, we threw her a surprise baby shower today (she suspected something of course) and this is the card I made for everyone in the office to sign. I colored the bear w/ my copics (still working on my shading) and you probably can't tell but I airbrushed the background that the bear is placed on and the sentiment w/ my copic airbrushing system- still trying to figure that thing out.

I then made these favor boxes- I bought the sizzix die in June, but couldn't post what I made w/ it until now :) She loves Snoopy so I found this stamp @ cute stuff and then embossed the bag w/ the sizzix hello kitty impressions folder. I colored the flowers/butterflies w/ stampin up markers and added stickles.

I made these onesies by using iron on transfers of her favorite characters.
Finally I made this fan fold card for her- the stamps match the wrapping paper I bought. She had a great time and loved all of her gifts. Thanks for looking and it's almost Friday- Hallelujah!

July OCS from Gina and the one I sent her

Hi!
I got this terrific tri-shutter card from Gina! She lives in Michigan and since I live in Hawaii she had to add some Aloha. Thanks for the card Gina- I couldn't wait to post her pic and figured that I'd save time and post my OCS to her. I hope she likes mine!

For my stand up card, I used Fred she Said Emma and sea friends and then I used my copic airbrush system for the background, then I used the cuttlebug bubbles embossing folder (Note to self- emboss the paper first, then airbrush--ha ha at least I learned something!) I used a stencil I made out of the sizzix wave 12" die to airbrush the wave. I actually colored her fin/body w/ copics, and then I tried to add some shimmer by going over it w/ watercolor paint, but it didn't come out so I ended up putting stickles on it for the bling. Some great ideas...don't work out :)
Anyway, thanks for looking and I'll be posting more this week- hopefully :|

My 2nd blog award!

Incredible RAK from Gail Woo

I opened up my mailbox on Thursday and to my great surprise was this incredible RAK. Gail made me a notecard holder w/ coordinated notecards, she included a mini stamp set and a bottle of stickles. She also made a covered notebook, matching pen and a little mini drawer set filled with brads and other goodies- what a blessing! She used hero art stamps and colored w/ copics- she is so talented! Thanks Gail, I really appreciate it! Hope you're all having a nice Saturday, take care and God Bless!

Greeting farm stamps at Cute Stuff

Hey everyone-
I went to cute stuff today and found that Liann has stock of Greeting farm stamps. I picked up the snuggle stamp, hope and grace set, cup of stuff set and fairy Anya, I actually was contemplating buying a scor pal, but decided to buy these instead ;) Anyway, if you haven't gotten your greeting farm stamps yet (I'm probably the only one that didn't get any yet...)- stop on in and get them from Liann. She is planning on placing another order so if you don't see the one you want, maybe you can ask her to order it for you.

Take care and have a great week!

doggy troubles and a post-it note holder

Hello everyone-
Sorry I haven't been blogging much- been busy creating things slowly (I lost my mojo I guess), but also I've been dealing w/ doggy stuff. Toby ate my blue tooth on 7/2/09 and all last week until today he's been in the hospital suffering w/ stomach problems. I'm very scared about my bill, but the most important thing is that he's okay. I'm now forced to clean up more since he gets into everything. This is not the 1st bluetooth he demolished (it's his 3rd), he's also destroyed 2 cellphones, a pair of IPOD earbuds and countless other things in his short life (he'll be 3 in September), but this is the first time that his gut became really irritated. The last pic is my craft room now cleaned up (the table is to put completed projects on. I am NOT going to take a picture of my living room which is where I actually craft- it's a wreck (but everything is out of reach so Mr. Nosy-Nose can't get to it- of course he's an amazing dog so I wouldn't put it past him at some point to figure out how to get to things. He gets onto my craft table by running and getting enough momentum to jump onto the swivel chair and pivot it around until he can jump on the table (seriously!)}. He's currently sleeping in his bed and snoring away (I guess dog hospitals are the same as regular hospitals- you never get any rest). Anyway, wish me luck that he doesn't eat anything else inedible and end up back in the hospital.

On to my project...I went to cute stuff last Saturday and I learned how to make a stickles container, but also on the same instruction sheet was how to make a post-it note holder. I decided to make 2 for my new friends that I went to the conference with in Atlanta in June. We're meeting for brunch at Longhi's on Sunday to catch up. Luckily I remembered how to do the instructions. Thanks Liann for creating the template! I hope my friends like them. I'll be filling it w/ a clip and a book mark that I learned how to make on Teri's blog. Thanks Teri for sharing the bookmark tutorial! Thanks for looking and take care! Have a nice weekend!

birthday card for my friend

Hello-
Here is a birthday card I made- I'm trying to get into copic coloring so I was able to do a little bit of shading and it turned out okay (1st time-most of the time it looks streaky). I stamped the inside sentiment and embossed it w/ silver, but some of the silver got onto the smaller words- oops. Anyway, hope you like it and TFL.

Little RAK for Elena

The last thing I made on Monday was a shadowbox card for Elena to say thank you for my beautiful crocheted flowers. I tried the SCS brayering technique using impressabilities, it came out so-so. I then used the 5th avenue floral SU rose stamp and paper pieced it together. I used the SU little leaves sizzlit to add the leaves. I included some stamped images for her. I hope she likes it!

I hope everyone is having a nice 4th of July and if you're crafting this weekend, I hope that the creative juices are flowing.

Take care and God Bless!

June Aloha RAK for Dawne

Hi-
I was partnered w/ Dawne this month and if she's reading this I 1) apologize for not including a note in my RAK, I found it on my table after I sealed the envelope 2) I took so long for completing it.

Anyway, I wanted to try the gatefold/tri-shutter card that everyone else was making so this is my take on it. It didn't close very well b/c I popped up the butterflies inside. :)

Hope she likes it! I'm not sure if she's the Dawne from Dawney's delights, but if she is, I love her work.

Have a great day and stay safe!

My June OCS card for Janis and new blog layout

Hi-
I finally finished my OCS card and June aloha RAK on Monday- I would've done it sooner, but was dowwwwnnn w/ the stomach flu all last weekend-blech!

Anyway, I made a shadowbox card for Janis and included some images for her- I know that we're not supposed to, but she's a new blogging friend so I did anyway ;)

I stamped the background flowers w/ the SU set Heartfelt thanks. The sentiment is a Amy R one and the stamp I got from cute stuff. She likes the pink and brown combo so I ran w/ it.

Hope you like the card. She's a new blogger and SU demonstrator so visit her site and give her some luv.

So what do you guys think about the new layout? I was playing around on Monday and accidentally erased my waterlily one, then I couldn't remember which site I got it off of so I put something else up temporarily. But then today, I saw the link to jelly pages and I found this little fairy. Let me know what you think and if it's too hard to read some parts. Thanks!

Have a happy and safe 4th of July!
