Hello everyone
I just wanted to share an upcoming event that I am involved with through my regular job ( I wish I could say crafting was my real job, but alas I need to pay the bills). Anyway, if you are interested in exercising and learning about historic Waipahu town, please click here. We are coordinating a run 5k (3.2 mile) run (can be a walk too) on August 23, 2009 from 700am-1000am. There will also be a festival to follow afterward. Go to the blog to learn more about at the event and also download the registration form if you decide to come out. If you don't want to come out and exercise, just come out and visit the food booths and the Hawai'i Plantation Village.
I'll be there volunteering my time for first aid but I'd love to meet my blogging sistahs in person. I hope to see you all there. Take care and God Bless!

my OCS from Janis and my RAK from Elena
Hi!
I received my OCS from Janis yesterday and it's awesome. She's a great crafter and just started as a SU demonstrator, she hasn't posted any projects on her blog yet, but go and check her out when you can. She made a combination gate-fold and shutter card- it's awesome!
Elena made this beautiful flower pot card and more amazingly she crocheted these flowers and included more flowers for me to use! I'm so lucky to have 2 great partners for these swaps. I'm working on getting out Janis' OCS and my Aloha RAK partner's cards- I didn't forget, that 1 week trip to Atlanta just screwed up my timeline and also my body (finally over the jet lag).
Thanks for looking~

atlanta 2009
Hi Everyone-
Sorry I've been AWOL lately, but I had to go to Atlanta for a work conference. It was great to explore the sights and learn new things, but it was soooo hot! Attached are a few samplings of Atlanta. I went to the world of coca-cola and played w/ the polar bear character, walked through centennial park (where the olympics were held), went to eat at Mary Mac's tea house for some real southern food and then went to the botanical garden. It was an awesome experience. I'm glad I went to experience the culture and the food. The people there were very friendly (even a homeless man directed me to where I needed to go). I did experience the highs and lows of Atlanta when I wandered inadvertently into a ghetto (saw homeless, dilapidated buildings and someone doing illicit drugs), but being a public health nurse I took it all in and...GOT THE HECK OUT OF THERE. Needless to say my little legs were mighty sore that day.
Anyway, thanks for looking- I'm trying to catch up on my crafts as I need to get my RAK and OCS out and make a card for my friend- hopefully I'll have those to share too. I'll be adding my entire Atlanta slideshow to an online photo thing when I have time.
All in all- go to Atlanta- experience the sights. But go in like March or April or whenever it's not soo dang hot!

Another hello kitty card holder
Here is a card holder and some cards that I made for my aunty to give to her school principal (who also happens to be my high school classmate :)
Remember how I said earlier that I was going to check out some card templates since I felt that I was making the same designs on cards? Well, I based my cards on one of Maria's templates. She is so dang creative.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

gifts for my school health aides
Hello! Here is a card folder stationery set that I made for my health aide using the Nancy Kubo design. I know I tend to make a lot of these, but they're so easy and at least I can give people some cards to use in the future. I also made this hello kitty card holder and cards for another school health aide.
Thanks for stopping by and take care.

graduation cards for my friend's daughter
my friend asked me to make a card that she could give to her daughter. Tara loves the color purple and also went to Anuenue immersion school so she of course loves all things Hawaiian. My friend asked me to incorporate purple and a Hawaiian quilt design on her card. I got a little stuck for awhile (alright a long while, it took me 2 days to figure out what I wanted to do. My first attempt failed miserably, so this is what I came up with.
the 2nd card is what I made her for her graduation gift. I didn't take a picture of it, but I die cut a Quick cutz graduation cap and tacked it on the cat's head before I gave the card to her.
Take care

She also sent me a package of flowers! Thanks Penny! It was nice to play w/ you! Take care and God Bless

color combos
Hey guys- I need some advice. I was "talking" with my new OCS partner Janis and I mentioned how I get stuck using the color purple alot. I aim to use different colors, but sometimes it doesn't happen. I wanted to know how you guys choose color combinations? I also have a very expensive habit of buying a lot of DP and not using it- do you guys do that too? I guess I'm in a little funk so any advice that you can give would be helpful!
Thanks and take care.

HELP!
I'd like your advice- I've been usually coloring my images w/ stampin up markers, but I keep running low on the blush blossom pen so I decided to use copics. I followed someone's blog- sorry can't remember who and bought cherry white, tea rose, fleshy beige (I think), and I'm trying to use them, but I'm not too happy w/ the results. I tried to follow Jen Young's blending tutorial, but that didn't come out either. What type of cardstock do you use, I've been using the white cardstock that comes from Walmart (1 big ream for 7.00+). Does the cardstock make a difference as to the blending? I also use the stampin up watercolor pencils and the blender pen to color, but there isn't a flesh colored pencil in that set. I'm planning on getting the blush blossom stamp pad so I can use that w/ the blender pen to color flesh...
HELP! any advice you guys can give me is much appreciated. Thanks! Sorry I haven't posted anything lately, I've been creating. I should post some stuff this weekend.
Take care and thanks for your help
