April OCS and Aloha RAK

Hello everyone-
It's FRIDAY! Hallelujah! I hope you are all well and have a great weekend planned. I have to go to my cousin's wedding on Saturday and still need to make her card. I was planning on having some friends over for crafting today, but since I cleaned up my living room last weekend, my craft room is now a mess so I still have to straighten up and also cut out the sets for them. I plan to have them over next Friday since it's another furlough.

Anyway, I participated in the April OCS and April Aloha RAK and I got the same person for both activities. Colleen Kwan made me this beautiful card using the 5th avenue floral impressions folder from SU and since I was still working on her stuff last weekend, I decided to use the same stamp set for her card and RAK.

I used the emboss resist technique again to create her card and I wish that the stamp set had 2 big roses instead of just one, but oh well, I guess they need to make the embossing template different otherwise you wouldn't buy that plus the stamp set :) Smart retailers! Anyway, I inked up the card using PTI hibiscus burst and addeded plum pudding accents to the middle of the flowers. I then covered a notepad for her and used the same flower from the stamp set as the accent image. I hope that she likes her gift set. I enjoyed making it for her.

Another card for a special friend

Well, a 2nd post this week- pretty good. I hope you had a great Thursday, tomorrow's furlough Friday for me so I'm very happy. I took yesterday off though to take my mom to the doctor. She is still suffering from her abscess and an infection, but it looks like it's healing and we'll see. Maybe she can come home soon- she's been in the hospital since December.

Anyway, I totally cased this card from Shirley when she made me one like it for Easter (using the nestabilities and MS fence punch), but I wanted to make a thank you card for a friend. I made her a RAK a while ago and again didn't get around to making her card until now so this is what I came up with.

As you can tell, I REALLY love penny black animals and this is a hedgie from a clear stamp set Tiny Wishes- I have most of the sets w/ hedgehogs in it, but haven't inked up most of them. I used a DSP that I got free from my last order from Addicted to Rubber Stamps.com and another DSP that I got from cute stuff. I accented the little flowers on the bottom DSP w/ little flower buttons that I also got from cute stuff and added the MS fence punch in yellow. I then added some butterflies to finish up the card. I really like this style of card and plan to make more :)

Have a great evening and take care!

Penny Black Saturday and other Challenges

Hello everyone-
I'm back- it's been a rough couple of weeks so I haven't been able to post. I've been creating some things and catching up on some RAKs that I've meant to send out and I'll be posting those over the next few days.

Anyway, I have been wanting to participate in the Penny Black Saturday Challenge for awhile, but never got around to it. I made this tent card for a special friend and I decided to also submit it into the challenge. This week's challenge was to use 3 flowers, 2 buttons and a bow. I used this mouse stamp that I bought last year but never inked up and then I suspended it from the card. I made a bow w/ purple organza ribbon (and I'm really happy about how the bow turned out) and then I sewed a button to the center of the bow. The flowers are a mixture of prima flowers and some stickers that I had before. I closed the card w/ 2 eyelets and then glued 2 roses that I picked up from Photocraft before. I decided to balance the card w/ 3 green pearls. I copied Shirley's idea, but I didn't have the grass MS punch so I used the icicle one to add a border on the bottom of the card to "somewhat hide" the base

I also decided to submit this card for entry into Tamiko's challenge #2 (using your nesties) I used my circle nestie to cut out the hole for the mouse to suspend into and then I used my scallop circle nestie to outline the circle.

I hope my friend likes her card and RAK, I've been meaning to send it out for a while but just hadn't finished everything yet.

Anyway, I hope you like my card and thanks for visiting- I really appreciate all of your comments and I look forward to reading all of them.

Until next time, take care and God Bless

Clip-n-cuts paper crafts blog hop

Hey everyone-
I just saw this on Maria's site and Mel Stampz site and decided to add my blog to it.

Here is how it works:

1. Click the blue frog below to add your blog.

2. Copy the following script and put it on your blog post while in HTML view.

3. Provide the above code on your blog for others to grab. Just mention to paste it on HTML view when blogging.

4. Ask your readers to add their blogs on the list and also copy and paste the script on their blog as well!

This will make a thumbnail collection that will grow on everyones blog and we can meet each other! I’ll be moderating it so no worries. It will be updated on everyones blog when someone enters a new link.

LOVE IT! Please DO participate! You don’t have to link them back here. Just tell everyone to add their cardmaking/scrapbooking blog and make the collection as big as we can! Can we make it to 1000? If you have any issues let me know and I’ll be happy to help asap.

Here goes!

Administrative Professional's Day cards

Hello everyone!

I hope you had a nice weekend! It was a crazy week last week and this week will be a doozy too. Anyway, I spent Sunday making cards for our 4 clerks.

the 1st card is for our AWESOME senior clerk Janice- I've mentioned before how she is so hardworking and dedicated to our office. Well, there are really no words to describe how hard she works for us-she comes to work at 530am daily and even on
Saturdays and she's so EFFICIENT. It seems like we just think of something and next thing you know she's done it already. I really wanted to make a nice card for her so I used another huggabugg image, but then I add tons of flowers to this card. I got the paper roses from papercraft on Saturday. But CRAP! I just noticed that one of the roses came off when I took the picture- but there is a rose in that spot on the finished card. I adapted the paper craft planet sketch again for this card.

The 2nd card is for Dayle- she is another clerk and she is so much fun to work with and she's our 2nd go-to clerk. She is unfortunately going to lose her position at then end of June so we will REALLY miss her. I used a huggabugg image and then also used a simple layout again. I tried to follow a sketch (can't remember which one), but this is what I developed. I finally got the MS floral vine punch that I've been searching for, so I used it for this card. I hope that she likes it.

The 3rd card is for our clerk Melanie- she is a fun loving person but she also works hard. I used this pure innocence image for her and then used a simple layout, I attempted to follow the Paper craft planet sketch but I didn't think that the skewed image would've worked, so I just laid the image in the center. Oh well. Then I applied dewdrops and a flower to balance off the card. I was pretty happy w/ the way the bow turned out though.

The last card is for our data clerk. I used the PTI dot spot stamp set and went a little crazy, my initial idea was to make a background paper but I ended up with this. I bought a lot of flowers over the past 2 weeks so I decided to use them along w/ the buttons that I bought too.

We are ordering food in for the office on Thursday to celebrate their special day, we know it's next week Wednesday, but we have TB clinic that day and it would've been too crazy. I hope that they all like their cards and gifts.

Have a great week and I'll try to make more stuff this week but I have to work about 14 hours tomorrow so I might be recuperating for the rest of the week. I'm also running a H1N1 flu clinic on Saturday so we'll see.

I still need to make my April OCS and Aloha RAK and need to make 6 birthday cards for May. I also am trying to have a little get together on 4/30/10 with my friends to make cards so we'll see if I get my act together by then, I have a feeling that we won't be crafting in my living room (since all of my supplies are there) but outside in the garage! I still also have to finish up some goodies for some blogging friends- It's coming...I promise :P

Take care of yourselves and have a nice week

A gift for my mother

Hello again-

I made this file folder notepad holder for my mom, I found the tutorial on SCS and Patty adapted the measurements too, well again my lack of measuring skills presented themselves and I made a little mistake, but I think it turned out so-so. My mom liked it irregardless and she can use it so that's the main thing. I will be trying to make it again. so we'll see what happens. I bought the file folders from Walmart, but I don't know if the folders are the same size as the SU folders that they used, but we'll see.

Anyway, have a great Wednesday everyone!

Easter Goodies part 3

Hello everyone!
I hope you had a great Easter with your family and friends! I had a pretty low key Easter since my mom was still in the hospital- so I spent the day finishing up my Easter projects. My mom did come out of the hospital for a little while, but she wasn't feeling up to going out so she just came home and lied down. Anyway, we're all hoping that she can come home by May.

Okay- enough about that, onto the projects

I made 2 more Easter baskets for my co-worker's daughters. They are so funny and adorable. One daughter likes purple and one likes pink so I got them bunnies in their favorite colors and then alternated their basket colors.
For the pink colored one, I used my scraps- whoo hoo, pile is S-L-O-W-L-Y going down. For the purple basket, I used scraps too and I dry embossed the outer panels on this basket. To make the handles sturdier, I used a strip of CS and then added a punched border to it. I hope they like their gifts.

I then made 11 more of these covered notepads. I used 2 bunny digital images. I bought the girl and boy dressed in the outfits from chi chi memories and the bunny w/ the lollipop is from 2 cute rubber stamps and it was a free digi- they have really cute stamps so you should check out their Etsy store. I chose the base CS based on my friends' favorite colors and then I chose coordinating DSP. I then used punches to make the binding strips and then blinged the heck out of the DSP to finish it up. My friends really liked their gifts so that makes me very happy.

Anyway, it's Monday night and I'm watching Dancing With the Stars- I don't even know why, I really want to see Nicole Scherzinger from the Pussycat Dolls dance, but I also have to endure watching Kate Gosselin whine and moan and trod her way thru her dance. If you've seen my facebook posts then you know that I can't stand Kate Gosselin just because of her attitude. Oh well, off of my soapbox now!

I have 5 cards to make now, 4 for Administrative Professional Day (we're celebrating nexte week so I need to get things out this week) and then our co-worker is having surgery tomorrow so I'm making her office get well card. I also have to make my April OCS card and I signed up for Aloha RAK this month so I'll be busy- ooh boy! what did I do to myself?

Have a great week and I will be posting something else tomorrow!

Take care of yourselves and God Bless!

Easter Goodies Part 2

Hi everyone!

Happy Saturday!

I hope you are all doing well and relaxing this weekend. Getting ready for the Easter bunny to visit?

I made the following goodies for some family, close friends/coworkers and their daughters.

I made this card for my dad and stepmom. I used another bunny stamp that I got from the Darcie's set at Cute stuff, cut out the backing using nesties and added layered flowers and dew drops to embellish

I still have 9 more of these covered notepads to make, but at least I made 1! hee hee!
I bought these from Ben Franklin and then I covered it with CS and DP, I then used my Martha Stewart punch to create the border and I bought this digi image from Tiddlyinks and colored her w/ my copics, then used my nestabilities to cut her out and back her.
Finally added some dew drops to the corners of the image and I added a large button that I got from PTI onto the center of the big DP flower and added a dew drop to the center.

I made this Easter basket for my friend's daughter and I bought this cute bunny from BF. I used a tutorial that I got from Whiff of Joy and I bumped up the size a little. I used a MS deep edge punch to make the handle, but I think I need to make a double handle so it isn't so flimsy. I still have 2 more of these to make for my other friend's daughters.

Anyway, I hope you have a great day!

I will be posting more pics of the rest of the Easter goodies I made. I also have to make 4 Administrative Professional's Day cards and 1 baby shower card.

Well, I'm glad that I won't be going shopping this weekend (no mo' money) and I will hopefully be crafting a lot.

We're hoping to bring my mom home for a few hours on Easter so she can spend time at home instead of in the hospital

Take care of yourselves and each other.

TTFN! Have a blessed day!

My OCS card from Evie

Hello everyone-
I hope that you are having a relaxing Good Friday for those of you who are off. I got up early (445am)and exercised, cleaned out my bedroom closet, went back to sleep for about 1 hour and then paid bills.

I will be going to church tonight again, but I wanted to share with you the BEAUTIFUL card that I got from Evie.

She used the one of the new cheeky stamps from TGF and colored it amazingly! I really love her little flower embellishments and need to find out where she got it from :)

The card is so beautiful and definitely "girly" :)

Thanks Evie! I love the card~

I will be posting some more pics of the Easter goodies that I made for my friends- alas, I didn't complete all of them on time, so they will be getting it late- SORRY!

for those of you who are off today- have a great Good Friday and for those of you who are Christian- let us remember how Christ died for our sins and saved us.

Take care and come back tomorrow, I'll have my Easter goodies part 2 to show you.
