Merry Christmas!

Hi everyone-
I can't believe that today is Christmas, it came too fast this year, of course it seems to come too fast every year. Anyway, I hope you all are having a blessed day with your family and friends!

Here are a few things that I made to sell.
My sister ordered these calendars for my nephew's classmates- they're in the 1st grade and are starting to learn about time management.

I then made gift card holders, there were about 10 different designs.

I finished my Christmas crafts last week and now I am packing. I got asked to be the trip nurse for Moanalua high school marching band and I leave tonite. I've packed things for the students and for emergencies/first aid. Now I need to pack for myself...yikes! If all goes well and no one gets sick, I'll get to see Universal studios, Disneyland & California adventure park, magic mountain, grand canyon and the fiesta bowl parade.

I wish you all a great Christmas and a happy new year! May 2010 be filled with good health, love, happiness, friendships and prosperity. Take care and God Bless You All!

My office Christmas party

Hello everyone!
I don't know about you, but I'm so behind in everything. We had our office Christmas party last weekend and everyone had a blast. I'm now trying to work on some orders and make things to sell. And I have to make 11 favors for a retirement luncheon, busy busy!

I made this Christmas banner using my cricut, I stickled the snowflakes and the letters.

I made these favors using the Sizzix pie box die, stamped it w/ a hero arts Xmas tree stamp and embossed it. Then I decorated it w/ stickles. Used the small snowflakes from the Martha Stewart snowflake border to make the tree topper. I filled the box w/ hershey's kisses and Reese's peanut butter cups- yum!

Finally I decorated these Christmas trees for the centerpieces- I made 8 in all

I hope you all are having a nice holiday season! Take care and God Bless!

Happy Tuesday!

Hey everyone--
we're getting closer to Friday thank GOD!. Anyway, I made 2 cards yesterday on the "fly"

My co-worker's husband fell down the stairs and had a brain bleed, so he's recovering at Rehab hospital right now, we continue to pray for him for a full recovery. I was asked to make this card so everyone in the office can sign for it and we can get them a Room Service in Paradise gift certificate (this is a great company, they have many restaurants that you can choose from and they deliver the food to your house- great idea for people w/ new babies, newlyweds, new homeowners, etc). I used a pink cat studio digi image and it's appropriate b/c their dog kept barking to alert my co-worker that her husband had fallen down.

The next card is for my friend's birthday. I used a CC design from cute stuff and I really love this purely pomegranate stamp pad that I picked up.

Anyway, I am still prepping for the office Xmas party this weekend so I'll post stuff later. I'm currently cutting some shapes out on my cricut so I decided to blurf in between~

Take care

Thanksgiving festivities and other happenings

Hi everyone-
sorry I've been AWOL. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and weekend! I can't believe the weekend is almost over. Anyway, as I mentioned earlier, my step grandma's 75th birthday party was yesterday and I made 100 of her favors. We also had family coming in from Oregon so we had Thanksgiving at my mom's house. I made the turkey, sweet potato souffle, spinach stuffing balls and pumpkin tiramisu- I took most of the pics w/ my phone so I can't share them. The food was great (in my opinion lol!) and the fellowship was even better.

Here is the post-it note holder I made for my grandma's party and

here is some of the food that we ate at Thanksgiving.

As you can see- my mom, stepdad and I are exhausted (look at the bags under our eyes)

To top off the weekend I went to my first black Friday at Walmart- I left empty handed, but stayed around to help my friend fight off the crowds. It was an interesting experience to say the least. Since I was up from 700am on thanksgiving day until 630 am on black Friday- I was pooped and unconscious for most of Friday :P

I am in charge of our office Christmas party this weekend so I'm finishing up the favors and centerpieces, I'll post pics of that when I'm done.

Have a great week and take care and God Bless.

Happy Birthday Cute Stuff

hello-
I went yesterday to deliver this birthday card to cute stuff and Lianne and to go shopping of course :S I have only been shopping there for about 6 months, but my collection looks like I've shopped there for years! Yikes. Anyway, I hope she had a successful sale and I wish her many more years of great business. Thanks to her for bringing in such great stuff for us!

card for Noah

Hello everyone-
I hope you are all having a nice Veteran's day holiday-let's remember those who fought or are fighting for our freedom!

I have been busily making 100 favors for my stepgrandma's 75th birthday party at the end of the month and I need to make the favors for our office Xmas party (I'm a co-chair this year)! Whoosh.

More importantly, I have made this card to send to 5 year old Noah Biorkman of South Lyon who will celebrate Christmas early this year.

His parents, Diana and Scott, wanted to make sure he would see the holiday one last time before cancer claims his life. They'll have their own Christmas this weekend.

Noah was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in 2007, when he was 3 years old.

He went into remission, but then relapsed in September 2008. His family is not expecting him to make it to Christmas Day.

If you would like to send him a special Christmas card and send him God's blessings please mail your cards to:

Noah Biorkman

South Lyon, MI 48178

Thanks everyone and have a blessed day.

my october OCS for Shirley

Hello-
Shirley already posted this on her blog, but I wanted to share w/ you what I made for her. I used a penny black stamp, stickled the tulips and added a bow. I totally suck at making bows so it was a little skewed...grr.

Anyway, she liked the card and that's the main thing.

Have a great week!

Happy Halloween from Toby!

Hello everyone-
Can't believe that it's the end of the month already! I hope you have a great Halloween and stay safe. This is 2 of Toby's costumes, another was also posted on my sidebar at the beginning of the month. Anyway, 1) HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE A GHOST, NOT A RACIST KLAN MEMBER, SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION.

I'm going to my cousin's house for a Halloween party, Toby is staying home in his kennel. It's too hard to stay home for trick or treaters because he barks ferociously (but when you actually let him out of the house, he's very friendly), but most people avoid the house b/c of his barking and clawing at the security screen door :P

My cousins are dressing up as 2 witches and 1 optimus prime so I made these treat boxes for them

I used Teri's idea for the box (thank God she made a tutorial) and then I used TSRD free digi image witch for the girls' boxes and I downloaded and shrank an optimus prime for Dane. I'm planning on filling them w/ oreos and tootsie pops.

I hope you all have a wonderful nite and take care!

Card sets for my cousins

Hi-
My cousins who flew in for the funeral are leaving this week, I wanted to make them something special. They opened up the gift last night at my dad's house (another HUGE family gathering) and they loved it.

My October OCS card from Shirley

I got this darling and awesome card from Shirley last week, I'm still working on hers, but it'll be mailed out this week. She did a fantastic job coloring it (looks like it's w/ pencils-she has a light airy touch to her coloring- it's so subtle and beautiful!) She added stickles to the bubbles and embossed the base of the card. I totally love the card and I hope she'll like mine :)

Have a great Sunday everyone!

2 sympathy cards

My cousin Mark passed away from a long battle w/scleroderma (it's a disorder where your skin, joints, organs harden and become brittle). He was a kind, gentle, caring man and such a fighter. We've been attending family gatherings since Wednesday and last night was the wake/memorial.

The first card that I made for my uncle, aunt and my cousins is pretty simple, I finally opened my top note die and I used shimmery green paper. Then I stamped the sentiment and image on w/ versamark shimmer gray ink.

The 2nd card I made for his wife and daughter was for encouragement, I can't imagine what it is like to lose your best friend and spouse and have to carry on. They have been incredibly strong and I wanted to remind them of that and that they will be able to carry on w/o him, but that his memory lives on and that he had left a last impression on their lives forever. I used a popcorn the bear image and colored it w/ my copics- I think it came out decent.

Anyway, life reminds us that it's too short and that we need to constantly tell people that we love them.

Take are and have a great week!

Boss's Day card

Hello-
I almost forgot that it was boss's day, luckily I looked at someone's blog and it reminded me ;P

Anyway, I made this card for our boss and for my co-workers to sign. I used a Tina Wenke stamp and then used the Fred She Said pricking template again (told you I liked it!) I kinda smudged some areas so I added butterflies and little hearts (thank God for punches).

Thanks for coming by today and don't forget to wish your boss a Happy Boss's Day on 10/16/09!

Halloween treat bags

Hello everyone!
I hope you are having a nice weekend, I spent my day yesterday shopping-both a good and bad thing for me ;P I went to J's Knickknacks for their make and take and I got to meet Jean from Dandelion Designs in person and I gave both her and Cheryl a treat bag. I have made 28 in total, so I will be filling these up w/ oreos and lollipops for my co-workers.

Then I went to cute stuff and picked up the newest C.C. designs sugarplum angel set and also the swiss pixie brigita. I actually went to try and pick up my TSRD order, but that hadn't arrived yet- oh well, guess I'll have to go down again this week :)

Then I went to photocraft. I attended their copic class last week and I left my pens there, thank goodness Brian found them and they held it for me. I found some ribbon and punches.

Then I went to Ben Franklin to pick up some more paper.

The shopping didn't end yesterday- I went today to BF again to use another 40% off coupon to buy a 1" circle punch (I'm pretty sure I have one already, but I can't find it-no big surprise, grr) Then I went to creations unlimited in Wahiawa to pick up more cardstock. I found a craft caddy (the material kind) at Walmart to hold my tools at my desk

Now I'm home and finished spot cleaning my house so I can craft.

Anyway, that was my weekend in a nutshell- bad for my wallet, but good for my mojo.

Hope you all have a great week! For those of you who signed up your children for school flu shots, the clinics start this week! I'm running a total of 9 clinics this flu season, God help me!

I have to make a sympathy card for my cousin who passed away from scleroderma and I signed up to make 2 cards, 1) for kids w/ cancer and 2) for a girl w/ spina bifida. I'll post those when I can.
Take care and God Bless

My first challenge submission

Hello-
I hope you all had a nice WCMD day and made something. I'm almost finished with the halloween baskets that I'm making for my co-workers, but I surprised myself and also made a card.

Fred she said had a challenge and they also had new images. So I bought the pin-pricking template and I used the big dahlias that I had bought earlier to make this birthday card for my uncle. It's so hard to make cards for men- I hope it's not too "girly" looking- if it is, oh well, at least I tried. LOL!

I used glossy accents on the top dahlia and leaves to make it shiny and then popped it up w/ dimensionals.
It's very simple, but I really like the pin-pricking template, I think I'll be using this alot.

I also submitted this card for the Capture the Moment challenge 2 contest. The inspiration was Mexico- so I used the bright colors of Mexico to make my card.

There are nicer submissions out there, but at least I tried ;)

Thanks for looking and have a great week. I'm trying to finish up the goodie baskets today so I'll post a pic when I can.

Take care!

My card to Joy for the August OCS

Hello-
Joy finally got my card that I sent her in September for the August OCS (I know, I'm terrible). I forgot to take a picture of it so she sent me one. I colored it w/ watercolor pencils and I thought it looked okay when I sent it to her, but when she took a picture of it (I'm horrified at my shading- yikes!)

Anyway, it is what it is and she liked it= thank God!

Happy WCMD- I don't know if I'll be making a card, but I will be making Halloween treat baskets for my co-workers :)

Handmade paper and 2nd post for today!

Hi-

I was experimenting w/ Tim Holtz's distress ink pads, alcohol blender and perfect pearls and I made this background paper. Then I stamped some flourishes on it. It didn't turn out too bad. I think I need to use glossy paper next time b/c the cardstock kind of warped. Anyway, used the paper to make a card. TFL and have a great weekend!

I finally finished it

I'm done w/ my cousin's guest book and album, I ended up make 2 albums because there were a lot of pictures. The wedding was beautiful and Gray Gables Estate where they got married was amazing. I'm so happy that I'm done because I can work on new stuff :) I hope they like it!

Gifts I made for my cousins

Hello everyone-
I went to my 2nd cousins' birthday party last night. Ally is 8 and Maya is 6, they are the cutest kids and I am so blessed to have been invited to their home.

Maya loves pink, Tinkerbell and hello kitty- I made her a composition book, box filled w/ Tinkerbell stickers and a card. I didn't have time to glitter up the fairy card but I think it was still nice (IMO lol)

Ally loves the color blue and she likes to draw. I also made her a composition book, and a box that I filled w/ watercolor pencils and paintbrushes. I also bought her a watercolor sketch pad and decorated it.

I also gave the both of them an easy bake oven decorating pen (so they can decorate cookies, cupcakes, etc).

I wasn't sure if they'd like the gifts (they got a lot of clothes), but I was so excited and happy when Ally opened her gift and said "Yeah, something other than clothes!" and then when she opened the box she said "look mommy, Aunty gave me drawing stuff". She was very impressed that I made the card too.

Maya, wasn't that impressed, but that's okay. I'm sure she'll use her stuff.

Thanks for looking and I hope you are all doing well. I'm down w/ another cold- it's par for the course, every child I saw this week was sick and no matter how much I hand sanitize, the little germys got to me...boo! Anyway, take care of yourselves and get your flu shots!

God Bless and hopefully I'll be able to post again soon. I'm STILL in the process of cleaning up and organizing- I have way too much stuff (what crafter doesn't? lol)

my Aloha RAK to Joni and request for HELP!

Hey everyone- sorry I've been AWOL. Things have been crazy!

Anyway, I came back from my trip and had to make my August Aloha RAK and August OCS. I apologize to my partners that my projects were late.

In any case, I made this note card drawer for Joni and I included some cards I made when I first started card-making and some stamps. When I was in Oregon I got a lot of the new clear stamps and I bought some to share w/ my RAK partners- so look out partners :)

Go to Joni's site because she took way better pictures than mine, I was rushing to get it out to her. LOL :P

I also made my OCS card for Joy in Seoul Korea, I used Popcorn the bear- I unfortunately didn't take a picture of it, so I'm going to email her and see if I can get a copy ;) I may post that later.

In any case, I am still in the process of finishing up my cousin's guest book/photo album. I had every intention of giving it to them in Oregon, but then I had a brilliant idea to make it into a photo album. (good and bad idea). I'll make a slide show of the album once I'm done w/ it.

I'm also in the process of trying to organize my stamping stuff. Although i just started seriously stamping at the beginning of 2009, I have a load of stuff- YIKES. My craft room is filled w/ tole painting supplies, so my living room/dining room has become my card making area. It's terrible to say the least, I have stuff ALL over the place. So I've been trying to organize things into rollable towers. How do you guys store your stuff? I'm curious/desperate to know, especially how do you store your rubber stamps?

Anyway, I'll take any advice that I can.

Take care~

my cousin's wedding card

hey everyone-
thanks for the get well wishes, I was feeling pretty junk this morning when I went to work, but I came home early and slept for 4 hours and feel better. In any case, I spent most of yesterday (in between taking breaks and Tylenol for my fever) finishing up his guest book. I am taking my paper cutter w/ me and extra embellishments so I can finish it up there... YIKES!

I made this tri-shutter card for him, but I bumped up the size so it can fit into a 5 x7 envelope. Their colors are eggplant purple and silver so here's my take on that. The flowers are from sizzix dies and I textured embossed the backgrounds of each section (silver part). Then I cut out the words w/ my cricut (still getting used to this thing). The sentiment is from Corinthians and then the stamp on the last panel was from cute stuff.

All in all I think it turned out okay, it might be a little too big to stand up for long periods of time, but that's okay.

Well, I probably won't be able to post when I'm gone but I will make a slide show of the finished guest book when I come back.

Thanks again for the get well wishes and safe travel wishes. I hope that I'll be better enough to comfortably enjoy the long plane rides and stopovers we have.

Take care and I'll try to go blurfing when I'm gone. I got the new 3G my touch from t-mobile so I can see some blogs but it just takes so long to load. I don't want to miss anything you guys make- you're all so awesome!
