My OCS card for February

Hi-
I made another easel card for my OCS partner, she lives in Florida so it'll take a while to get to her.
I used a Hope and Grace image that I FINALLY INKED up,
I backed it onto an Asian inspired paper and at the base I cut 2 strips of the same paper to accent it. I then applied 2 way glue to the above or below each strip and added glitter. (sorry you can't see it very well). Finally I added bling to some of the flower centers and I made the sentiment tag.

In any case, I hope that she likes the card.

Take care and have a great day!

4 birthday cards

I'm continuing my goal of making birthday cards for each of my co-workers. Well, February has 4 people total.

The first card was for Jean (see earlier post).

The 2nd card for Melissa S. I used a papertrey ink stamp and then stickled the centers of the flower. I finally may have correctly used the MS corner and border punch set (I wouldn't say I mastered how to use it, but it's looking better!)

The 3rd card is for our clerk Janice- without her our office would fall flat on it's face. She is so dedicated and a sweetheart. She's one of those "silent and effective" types. I used a Tina Wenke image and MS butterfly punches.

The 4th card is for my friend Melissa (Mel), she is so funny and throughly knows how to enjoy life. Her wish is to meet the boys of DBSK (Korean pop group) and marry Micky (Yoochun). I made 2 cards for her- one from the office and an easel card/calendar for my personal card. She always asks that we bring her Micky (but since I can't, this is the best I can do).

The office card- I used last week's sweet Sunday Sketch, I meant to link it to the website, but I missed the cut off date. Anyway, I used a Tina Wenke design and dry embossed the purple rectangles w/ sizzix impressions folder, I cut out the rectangles w/ my nestabilities.

Happy Birthday to my wonderful co-workers and friends.

I hope you all are having a great weekend!

Take care and God Bless~

Valentine's day goodies and Bon Jovi

Hello-
I made these Ghiradelli chocolate matchbook holders for my co-workers. I made 24 total and also gave them a small package of Enjoy Arare hearts- they're kinda sweet and crunchy.

Everyone loved it. I had 2 designs, but made more of the hedgehog holding the heart.
Colored w/ my copics and then painted the bubbles and red heart w/ iridescent watercolor paint.

More importantly, I went to see Bon Jovi last night! What an awesome concert- Jon Bon Jovi sounds great still and he's SO HOT! We had a great time. Click here to see my picasa album if you want.

Hope you had a great Friday and have a great weekend!

Covered notepad

I bought these mini notepads from Walmart and decided to try and cover it. I tried to make a little pocket in the back so the user could add another pad later on. Well these notepads are very flimsy and promptly separated from the card board backing so I had to re-glue it several times. It's a demo model, so I gave it to my friend Lei who 1) loves cute stuff, 2) is very organized and crafty to test. She liked the image (which is a new one from Hero Arts) very much and will let me know what other problems she encounters (hopefully none).

Have a great Thursday! I will be going to Bon Jovi tonite since tomorrow is furlough Friday! Whoo Hoo! Rock on!

Belated birthday card for Denise and a sympathy card for her brother

Denise of tinkercrafts lost her sister in law to cancer the other day and will be flying up to the mainland for the funeral and to be with her brother. I wanted to make her a little something for her birthday and express my condolences to her family.

I used a Julie Fujii image for Denise's birthday card since I know how she loves Tinkerbell, and I figured she'd like this fairy. I colored it w/ my copics and then stickled the heck out of it. I used a PCS greeting and popped it up w/ 1/8" pop dots.

For Cheryl's card, I airbrushed the white cs w/ my copics and then used the Rachelle Ann Miller stamps for the clouds. I used a gingersnap angel and then punched out some butterflies. I used this sentiment I got from cute stuff (I think) or else it was addictedtorubberstamps.com

Post it note holders

Hello-
Hope you are having a nice week. I got together w/ the chaperones, staff that I went to Disneyland and Arizona with this weekend, so I wanted to make them something small. I made these post it note holders and they seemed to like it. I made one for Denise too as a belated birthday gift. I used a paper punch to edge one side of the holder and I used gingersnap valentine's day angels for some of the images and emboss resisted some flowers for the other images. for the angels, I first colored them w/ my copics and then water colored them with shimmer watercolors. Thanks for stopping by today and have a great Wednesday!

PTI Emboss Resist Challenge

Hello=
Paper Trey Ink is having their 3rd anniversary celebration and they started a new thing on Mondays where they will show a video of a technique and then you can use the technique to make a card or something. Anyway, the first video was for the emboss resist technique.

I've never done it before so it took me several tries. But this is what I came up with. I used SU stamps and colored them w/ SU ink. I then paper pierced some portions of each flower, added brads. I then paper pierced the bases so the butterflies had a trail. Finally I popped up the flowers and butterflies w/ 1/8" dots.

I'm going to link my card to PTI.

I like this technique and will probably do it again. Incidentally, this card is for my co-worker Jean. She has such a bright personality that I wanted to use bright colors.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of the weekend!

Retirement Party favors and a challenge

Hi everyone- hope you're having a nice hump day!

These are the favors we made for my co-worker's retirement party, my friend/co-worker Kelly helped me put them together. I used a sizzix die and paper punched the flowers. I popped up each layer w/ a 1/8" pop dot. Everyone at the party enjoyed the favors.

I made this card for another fellow PHN who is fighting metastatic breast cancer. She's been fighting it for about 2 years but things aren't going so well. Her faith is so strong and she is prepared for whatever the outcome. We decided to take up a collection to get her and her family some gift certificates for food. Since I have a lot of angels on it, I decided to enter it into the flutterby challenge. This is my first challenge so I really don't know what to do :)

I used gingersnap angels and I paper pieced their dresses (my first time doing this too) and then I airbrushed that background of the card. I used Spica pens to decorate the sun and the clouds. I water colored the cloud that the angel is sitting on. I added bling to each cloud.

Anyway, I hope you all are doing well. I have one more day of work and then another furlough Friday. I need to make 4 birthday cards for the February co-workers so I hope I can get them done this weekend. I also will be getting together with the chaperones I went to Disneyland with so I want to make some post it note holders for the ladies.

take care and God Bless.
